Shishito Peppers

Grilled Shishito Peppers

Cook time: 5 minutes
Serves 6-8
~ 2 dozen Shishito Peppers (hard to find so you can also do this with Poblanos, banana peppers, or any pepper with more heat if you prefer)
1 drop Olive oil or Coconut oil
Iron Skillet:
Turn heat on high on a seasoned iron skillet.  Once heated place peppers directly into pan and dry fry until peppers are blistery and brown.  Turn heat to medium and add 1 drop of oil toss peppers.  Turn heat off and sprinkle generously with salt and serve.
Pre heat grill to 500 degrees (high heat). Place directly on grill grates. Leave 2-3 minutes per side and until blistered and charred.  
These are great by themselves or served with some tasty homemade or fresh bread.  I have made these for some friends when they come over and they fly off the table – there is never enough.  So simple yet so delicsious. 
Want to take these to the next level when entertaining?  Mix ¼ cup vegan mayoannaise. 2 tbsp. siracha sauce, 1 tsp. agave syrup, and a couple of drops of toasted sesami oil mix well and serve on the side for dipping.
